Blue Star Banners offered in Newark August Mauer American Legion Post 286 is making the Blue Star Banners available to Newark residents who have a son, daughter, husband or wife on active military duty. The Post will compile a list of service personnel so that they can receive benefits from the Legion Family i.e. free membership to local post, letters, packages, etc. Anyone in the military is entitled to free membership in the American Legion Post 286 while they are serving our country. Doug Wischoff said, 'We are very, very proud of all the area service people and want to let them know that our thoughts and prayers are with them.'
