Happenings On April 15 (Marion's birthday) the museum's Historic Rooms will be open from 2-4 featuring a scrapbook compiled by me ... of Marion's 100th Birthday Celebration in 1926. As always, other precious scrapbooks and photo albums will be available for viewing. Kutz of Marion announces the grand opening of the private pedicure room. Drawings will be held for free beauty items. 1924 - Superintendent E J Allen announces that the new bridge one mile south of Marion village is completed and the Palmyra road is open for traffic. This will be gratifying to those making several round trips a day between Marion and Palmyra. Sharon Revard is doing well following surgery. The program runs from July 7 to August 15. Seeking creative and enthusiastic individuals who have an interest in working with children through outdoor activities, crafts, and special events. Applications are available at the Town Hall or high school counseling office and are due by May 9. You must be at least 16 and a resident of Marion to apply. In 1976, during our Country's Bicentennial and Marion's Sesquicentennial, Marion planned and carried out a program for each month. The project for February was the opening of the Marion Museum. At this time the two front, upstairs rooms facing Marion's Main Street were completely renovated and arranged with many interesting displays and exhibits. Since that time A Country School Room, A Heritage Room, Country Kitchen have been added. In September 2002 another larger room and anteroom has been added. Some things high-lighted in this last museum room is a quilting display and an interesting collection of games and toys of the past arranged around the fireplace.
