learn more! Literacy tutor training

Here is a chance to bring some 'sunshine' into someone's life by helping them with reading, writing or math skills. More than 30 people in Wayne County are waiting to be matched with a Literacy Volunteer Tutor.

They have goals that range from simply getting a driver's license to earning a GED. All come to Literacy Volunteers to in some way improve their lives. Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County is seeking persons interested in helping people with their literacy-related goals.

Tutors meet on a regular basis with their student and provide free reading, writing and math assistance. Tutors are trained and supported by LV Wayne through the office in Lyons.

Spring training sessions start April 26 and continuing on Saturdays, May 3 and 10. Sessions last from 9 to 3 with a lunch break and will be held at the Family Education Center at 28 Canal Street in Lyons.
