What a relief to have nice weather in the forecast! It's tough enough trying to get back to normal after an ice storm, but the sun shining helps everyone. It's still up and down, but on Tuesday, it started out in the high 50's and 60's and reached 83 degrees! (But since we live in upstate New York, who knows what will happen.) News from Ralph in Florida: 'Yesterday we had something interesting. We went to Tarpon Springs and saw about 50 adults and children waving flags and saying support out troops. Thanks, Ralph. Great to see the support for our troops. The Kraft Shack is having more great classes: Mon., April 21, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This class will show you how to beautifully display your old family pictures. You will need to bring one 8 X 10 or two 5 X 7 old photos (black/white or sepia tones work best). We may also have time to complete another page, bring 2 to 3 pictures that relate to the same subject, example: birthday party, vacation, etc. $20 includes all. You can make a Folk Art Goose on Wed., April 23, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you like primitive, you will love this goose welcome or name sign. Large wooden goose with rustic painting that has a wooden sign below to either say welcome, your last name, house number, etc. $20 includes all. This time of year when we actually see the sun, we also see a lot of the dust that has built up on things in the house, including the silk flower wreaths. Sandy has a tip for helping us get them clean: Pour 1/2 to 1 cup table salt into a large paper bag. Place the wreath into the bag, seal it tightly, and shake it. When the wreath is clean, remove it from the bag, and shake off any excess salt. I bet that would work for your single silk flowers, too... don't you think? Did everyone enjoy spring break (or what used to be called Easter vacation)?
Saturday, April l9 is the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Silver Hill Technologies Park on Rt. 88 in Newark. Children l0 and under can hunt for loads of colored plastic Easter eggs. There will be a casual service at 9 a.m. in the downstairs fellowship hall, and a 10:30 a.m. service in the sanctuary. The church is at the corner of Main and Belden. April 25 through May 4 is the LOC & Salmon Derby along the coast of Lake Ontario. Fish all along the coast of Lake Ontario. Good luck... hope you catch the 'Big' one. A few cute books to read with the kids on the porch or deck when it's nice out or just to sit on the couch inside :
