Car seat inspection in Williamson

The Wayne County Sheriff's office and Wayne County Public Health will be having a child passenger seat inspection at the Williamson Elementary school on May 3 from noon to 3 p.m.

Please bring the child to the event along with his/her passenger restraint seat.

This program is for the people who have old child restraint seats. They can turn the seats in for two free movie tickets.

The sheriff's office also wants parents to realize that any child under age 4 must be in a car seat, however the national highway traffic safety committee recommends that children under 57 inches tall should be in a booster seat. The sheriff's office will be giving away booster seats.

These events are made possible through donations from your local fire and ambulance departments, other civic organizations, businesses and government agencies.
