Clyde Scouts get Arrow of Light

Nine members of Cub Scout Pack 162 of Clyde-Savannah received their Arrow of Light Award in March. The Arrow of Light is the highest award in Cub Scouting that can be achieved as Webelos prepare to move on to Boy Scouting.

The Arrow of the Light Ceremony took place at the Clyde Fire Hall at the end of Cub Scout Pack 162's monthly Pack meeting.

The ceremony was opened with a flag ceremony and prayer, followed by a candle lighting ceremony, representing the various ranks of progression through Cub Scouting.

Members Zachariah Mein, David Steel, Dustin Stiles, Jacob Templar, Zachary Davis, Denton Dickerson, Jonathan Gillette, Raymond Baldwin and Joel Sesenko, under the leadership of their Den Leaders Marc Mein and Jeff Stiles, were then presented with a certificate, badge, and personalized arrow, in recognition of their significant scouting achievement.

The boys took part in a bridging ceremony where they were congratulated by members of Pack 162 representing the ranks of Cub Scouting before crossing over a homemade wooden plank and rope bridge made by their Den Leaders. The nine boys were then welcomed into Boy Scouting by members of Boy Scout Troop 172 by having their scouting colors changed and receiving walking sticks that they had been working on in preparation for their moving up ceremony.
