Red Hat ladies give $ to Newark library
Helen Blandino, Cheryl Chapman, Ellie Dawson and Grace Krueger

Celebrating age (over 50) and giving joy to others are the reasons 25 ladies came together as the Red Rose Hat Society of Newark, (informally established in October 2002 and formally affiliated with the national Red Hat Society in June 2003).

All these Red Hatters enjoy lunching together monthly, wearing red hats and purple outfits that set the mood for fun. The group has no rules and is co-Queened by Grace Krueger and Cheryl Chapman. It is currently closed to new members.

Because having fun also means giving joy to others, the Red Rose Hats have honored and will continue to honor community organization 'wish lists' by donating time, materials and money to them.

A check was recently presented to Ellie Dawson (third from left) of the Newark Public Library by Helen Blandino, Cheryl Chapman and Grace Krueger.
