Sodus Country Faire starts tomorrow The Country Faire, sponsored by the Sodus Town Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for August 8 and 9. Friday evening is The Patriotic Pet Parade hosted by the CrackerBox Palace (register at 483.2493 or visit www.crackerboxpalace.org). The Pet Parade registration is at Culligans Water Conditioning on Belden Ave at 6 p.m. with parade at 7. You do not have to be a Sodus resident to enter and all types of pets are welcome. Enjoy the Ice Cream Social and free Street Dance in the Sodus Village Park starting at 6 p.m. The Sodus Central Girls Softball Team will be selling food and beverage. Music by Steve Bates courtesy of Culligan Water Conditioning. Saturday from 10 to 6 more than 35 various vendors will fill the parking lot of the WCTA Credit Union, just off Route 88. Arts and crafts, antiques, plus non-profit organizations, businesses, and food vendors will be on hand. The Wallington Fire Dept will be cooking their famous chicken BBQ to eat under the big tent or take-outs will be available. Part of the activities will be Betty Bugni with an amazing display of bubbles to fascinate young and old, the will also be other childrens activities, and demonstrations throughout day. Music by Steve Bates - courtesy of the WCTA Credit Union. The Chamber has also organized a Township wide yard sale and the free maps and directories will be available at the Chamber booth. You may also pick up your 'Chamber Check' at the booth that is good for a 10% discount at participating merchants. The 'Check' is good until the end of the year so you can return to Sodus and shop at your leisure. The Chamber also has Yesterday's Sodus photos for sale as well as exclusive Chamber of Commerce canvas totes. Wallington Cobblestone School tours from noon to 4 will give you and your family a chance to step back in time. You can enjoy a fishing derby at Sodus Point and complete the day in Sodus Point at the Great Sodus Bay Screen Family Fest free outdoor movie showing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
