August 16 barn open house in Lyons

The Historical Society will have a Barn Open House August 16 from 8 to 4 at the Wayne County Old Jail Museum at 21 Butternut St., Lyons.

Docents will conduct tours through the barn galleries. Exhibits include a well- stocked general store, the only remaining horse bridge from the original Erie Canal, early farm equipment, a collection of antique license plates, and maple sugaring, coopering, ice harvesting and leatherworking exhibits. The Museum and former Wayne County Jail will be open for tours.

Refreshments, donated by the WCHS Board of Directors and Zappia Vending Service, will be served. No admission fee, but donations are appreciated.
