Recipe winners at the Fair Heluva Good Cheese LLC of Sodus, New York sponsored the 3rd Annual Recipe Contest on Thursday, August 14 the Wayne County Fair in Palmyra. Contestants of all ages competed in Hors d'oeuvre, Main Entrees and Dessert categories for the $100 first prize ($50 cash and $50 gift certificate). The top three winners in each category received cash or gift certificate to the Heluva Good Cheese Country Store. In the Hors d'oeuvre category, Joan Landgrebe of Palmyra won 1st place with her Heluva Good Fried Tortillas. Rebecca Valley of Palmyra won 2nd place with her Fiesta Dip. Third place honors went to Palmyra's Barb Hamilton with her BLT Dip and Becky Wagner with her Taco Dip. In the Main Entree category, Diane Savoie of Palmyra took 1st place with her Zucchini Parmesan dish. Second place went to Linda Whalen of Marion with her Macaroni & Cheese entree. Jennifer Smyth of Palmyra Won 3rd place honors with her Cheesey Pineapple with Ham dish. In the dessert category, Barb Hamilton of Palmyra won 1st place with her Heluva Sour Cream Raisin Pie. Second place went to Dawn Levickas of Palmyra with her Cream & Chocolate pie. In the 14 and under category receiving a $50 savings bend, Joshua Ford of Palmyra won lst Place with his Heluva Spicy Dip. Second place went to Martha Facer of Newark with her Hot Pizza Dip. Devon Siler of Palmyra received 3rd Place with his Devon's Fruit Dip. Second and third place winners received Wal-Mart gift certificates. All entries had to contain at least one Heluva Good product. Recipes are posted in the Heluva Good web site at www.heluvagood.com Immediately following the competition, entries were sold with proceeds going towards Fair renovations. Heluva Good Cheese Inc. was founded in 1925 and employs more than 100 people. It's corporate offices; a sales division and retail store are located in Sodus.
