Crash injures Newark teen

Jonathan Oosterling, 17, of Newark, was badly hurt last night after an accident on Parker Road, Arcadia.

Reports say that he lost control of his pick-up truck, skidded about 100 feet and crashed into an excavator at about 11:30 p.m.

The truck was completely destroyed by fire.

Oosterling was rescued, stabilized and taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital, with facial injuries and a possible broken leg.

His condition this morning is listed as guarded. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
