Children's chorus rehearsals begin
The group has been asked to participate in the U.S.A. premier performance of The Journey of Sir Douglas Fir with the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra on October 26 in the Newark High School Auditorium. The production will also feature the talents of local celebrities and community members. Parents of interested children should contact the director, Laurie Williams, at 331.5851 as soon as possible to schedule an audition. The group is seeking talented girls and boys, with unchanged voices, in grades 3 through 6. Second graders of exceptional ability will also be considered. The Newark Community Children's Chorus is interested not only in children who have a good solo voice, but also those who are good workers and can match pitch well. Home-schooled children are welcome. Singers do not have to be Newark residents to participate. In addition to Sir Douglas, the chorus will present two other concerts this season. Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. at Perkins School in Newark. A few extra rehearsals will be required with the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra to put together the production of Sir Douglas. Any questions about the Newark Community Children's Chorus can be directed to Laurie Williams at 331.5851 or Copyright
