News arrived that Randy Lake has been selected for the school baseball team at Penn State Technical in Williamsport, PA. His former MCS Varsity and Legion Coach was Paul Devlin. Randy is the son of Rodney and Lynnette Lake of Williamson Road, Marion. Ginny VanderBrook of Beam Hill Road spent time with her friend, Joan Lucieer, visiting the Windmill in Penn Yan and lunch at Miller's. On Saturday she and husband, Richard, dined at Red Lobster in honor of her birthday on May 25. Bev Layton has returned to her Sunset Drive apartment after a hospital stay. Rev. Kevin Bushart is doing well following dental surgery. August 21, 1897: Feeling that $9 per week, the price paid last year, was too much salary for a teacher in District #1, a new trustee has been selected. 'The best thing you can put in a banana split is a spoon.' Ruby Eisman of Nunda spent time last weekend with her daughter, Barb and Warren Bushart and their daughters.
