OLD TYME COUNTRY FAIRE

msc316.jpg (181535 bytes)Once again the Sodus Chamber of Commerce Pet Parade was a success even with the threat of rain! Hosted by the CrackerBox Palace, the many dogs, ponies, bunnies, puppies and even chickens looked great! The Sodus Girls softball team fixed some 150 hot dogs, the Chamber sold Ice Cream Sundaes and the 200 spectators along the parade route enjoyed it all. Steve Bates Music Mix provided music, but the street dance was called off at about 9 p.m. due to the rain.

msc311.jpg (113878 bytes)The threat of rain didn't stop the approximately 700 people who attended the Olde Tyme Country Faire to enjoy the 32 registered vendors and their wares. The Wallington Fire Dept. sold 300 chicken dinners and countless others found special treasures at the 17 listed yard sales in and around Sodus Township. Over 450 Chamber Checks with a 10% discount were handed out and will provide a good reason to shop and dine in Sodus again.

The Chamber raffle winners were: Danny Contant for the $200 from Barbara Jeans Furniture, Cliff Brown for the $200 from Paton's, and Donna McAdoo for the $100 from Sullivan's Auto. Sodus Chamber tote bags were won by: Marge Clevenger, Barbara Norton, James Owens, Deena Whitcomb, and Robert Whitcomb.
