Canaltown Chorale Christmas concert

The Canaltown Chorale will present its annual Christmas concert, A Canaltown Christmas featuring the music of John Rutter, on Sunday, December 14 at 4 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church located on the corner of Church and Main Streets in Palmyra. A suggested donation of $3 per person will be accepted at the door.

This concert will feature music written by John Rutter, born in London in 1945. His compositional career has embraced both large and small scale choral works, various orchestra and instrumental pieces.

The Chorale will perform Rutter's Magnificat with a chamber orchestra composed of members of the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra. Other pieces to be performed will include Candlelight Carol and Shepherd's Pipe Carol written by Rutter and The Holly and the Ivy and Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella both arranged by Rutter. The Chorale and orchestra will be under the direction of Mr. Gregg S. Christiansen.

Richard Crooks will accompany the Chorale on piano and organ.
