Newark student manages food drive

Jenna Howell, age 8, a Kelley third grader in Lora Schusler's class, collected close to 250 items for the Newark Food Closet.

Her poster said: 'I want to collect 100 cans during January. The box is located outside room #122. The poor need food to live, so bring in cans and help me reach my goal.'

She surpassed her goal times two, thanks to many caring classmates and staff.

Jenna is the daughter of Kim and Matt Howell.
