Lyons restaurant will close
Fitzgeralds Restaurant

Neal Fitzgerald, the owner of Fitzgerald's Restaurant on Route 31, Lyons for over 10 years, will lay down his spatula, take off his apron and turn off his grill. After serving the community for these many years, Fitzgerald is retiring.

He and his family have been serving coffee, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and ice cream to residents, regular customers and first-time travelers through the community of Lyons for over 10 years. Over the years, the Restaurant has undergone several renovation and remodeling ventures to better serve the dining public. (Courier-Gazette file photo)

This popular eating establishment was originally built in the early 1950's and was known as Sunset Farms. At that time the property was one of a series of ice cream establishments in the communities of Lyons, Newark, Phelps and Geneva.

The Restaurant will close at the end of business on February 28.
