Marion boys are County champs

The Marion boys basketball team clinched the Wayne County championship Monday.

The Black Knights posted a 90-72 victory over visiting North Rose-Wolcott. Marion finishes the regular season at 19-1 (15-1 League). The team won 19 in a row after a season-opening loss at Lyons.

The Black Knights, seeded No. 1 in the Class CC tourney, open quarterfinal Sectional play tomorrow.

Following Sectional play, Coach Christie is retiring, after 25 years.
