Missing Sodus
My old neighbor Al Dobbin sent me this picture of Sergeant St. in Sodus. It sure has been piling up. Ralph Everdyke said the temps are finally getting warmer enough in Florida to wear shorts. (It'll be a long time for us I'm afraid. ) From Ralph in Florida: HURRAH! It got so warm today I wore shorts for about the first time in 3 weeks. The weather being so nice, Betty and I drove to Clermont to the Lakeridge winery to replenish our drinking water. Being only about 35 miles from Winter Haven, we decided to drive down and see Ron & Micki Fagner. While we were there, Larry & Nancy Schmall and Ivan and Shirley Hyman, all from Newark, arrived. They are staying in a timeshare some place. They said the drive down was rather bad with snow as far down as into the Carolinas. After we arrived back in New Port Richey, we decided to go out for dinner as it was rather late to prepare anything. We went to a place called Nikos. It was rather expensive. We both had a Manhattan and salad bar and dinner. The bill with tax was $17.59 including the tax. Of course I had to leave a tip, that was not included. I was just talking with my son, Reg, on Instant Message and he said they went somewhere and only had BLT's, appetizers and the kids shared some shrimp plate and it was over $35. Well, anyway we had a very good day today and I hope the weather finally stays warm. The temperature got up into the low 80's. Since Ralph and Betty are having such a good time, I wonder when they'll be coming back to Newark? I doubt for a while.... Ralph can't go golfing up here or wear his shorts. Congratulations to the Hall Family, Patricia and her children, on their new home. The Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County selected their family for the next construction project. Tina Bramhall and her children received a home on January 12. I was so surprised to see the pictures of the kids - last time I saw Marissa she was about 3. The kids have all grown up. I'm happy for them I'm sure moving into their new home was exciting for them. Vendors are wanted for the OLDE TYME COUNTRY FAIRE on August 9, sponsored by the Sodus Town Chamber of Commerce.
