Sodus Library looks for Friends

For many years, there was an organization known as the Friends of the Sodus Public Library. About 20 years ago, for several reasons, the group ceased to exist. Now, a small group of library patrons has decided to re-organize such a group and is looking for new Friends to join.

The new group will be known as Friends of Sodus Free Library. There will be elected officers and a board of directors.

The library is here for all to enjoy - books, videotapes, DVDs, magazines, CDs and audio books. It is a wonderful place just to sit and browse through a magazine or to read a book in pleasant surroundings. There will be several levels of membership as explained in a brochure available at the Library, located at 17 Maple Ave. in the Village of Sodus.

There are many things a Friend can do to aid the librarian and assistants in their daily tasks. These include volunteering at Friends activities or simply walking in and asking if any help is needed. You can do this as often as you feel your time is available. All help is gratefully appreciated. The Friends also raise money through used book sales (twice a year).

The annual meeting will be held March 20, at 7 p.m. If you are interested or would like more information please contact the library at 483.9292 or stop in and pick up a brochure.
