The American Red Cross is holding a Blood Drive at the Legion Home on Witherden Road, Tuesday, March 4 from 2-7 p.m. Call for an appointment, or just walk in. Blood supplies are very low and all types are needed. Please don't stay home.

Raymond Anderson and Barbara Anderson send a heartfelt thank you to the Marion and Williamson Fire Departments for their excellent response to their barn fire on February 10. Thank you also to the other fire companies who responded to stand by in case extra help was needed.

The Arcadia Reformed Church on Woodlane in Newark, will host an All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner this evening, February 28 from 5:30 to 8. Proceeds to benefit the Christian preschool Wee Care program.

The musical 42nd Street will be performed at the High School March 7 and 8 at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.

Coach Christie's basketball team beat Bloomfield in the first round of the Sectional games. The top-seeded Black Knights trailed by a point at half time. Marion came out playing hard and playing well to post the big 78-49 win. Justin Devlin scored 13 points grabbed 13 rebounds and had eight assists. Ryan Weser scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half. The Black Knights played again on Feb. 26 - reaching the semifinals for the first time since 1998.

Judy White and her girls, Bonnie and Leah, spent part of the vacation week with her parents, Tom and Joanne Porter of Philadelphia. They had to spend some of their time shoveling snow.

Paul and Jody Bender and son Dave were in the sunny south. They spent time with family members in Atlanta and Greensboro, NC and enjoyed time at Disney World.
