Missing Sodus

The presents are all unwrapped, including the dog's gifts (which they thoroughly enjoyed, I might add). Now we head into the New Year, with goals and promises. This past year was tough for many people, so the hope is for a happier and easier 2003.

We've spent time watching movies during the school vacation. A few really good ones to see if you haven't already seen them are the second Harry Potter movie, Monsters Inc. and Maid in Manhattan. We never did get to see the Santa Clause II, but there is always Christmas in July, isn't there?

Things are pretty quiet this week, everyone is resting after the past busy month.

In speaking to Patty in Maui I found that their Christmas trees are decorated a bit different - they use many flowered garlands and the Santa's wear Hawaiian shirts, many can be seen with surf boards. The suit our Santa wears would be just be too hot for him in Paradise.

And Ralph Everdyke says the temperatures are in the 60's in Florida. Funny... I have been told you can tell the tourists from the people who live in Florida and I could see it on the parade we were watching the other day. 60's to people who live in Florida are chilly. 60's to people who travel South from the cold North are temps for short-sleeved shirts and possibly shorts.

Remember to write to me when things calm down again and let me know what plans you have for the new year or what fun things you did during the holiday. Write to me at

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
