Newark library luncheon

The Friends of the Newark Public Library will hold their lunch meeting on Friday, January 10, at noon, at the library on High Street.

Alec Sutherland, a retired Nazareth College professor and Fuibright Scholar, will speak on how DNA technology is changing the present and will even more dramatically change the future.

Professor Sutherland will review 'The Seven Daughters of Eve: The Science That Reveals Our Genetic Ancestry' by Dr. Brian Sykes, and 'Mapping Human History: Discovering the Past Through Our Genes' by Steve Olson, and make briefer reference to several other books.

He will discuss how to have your own DNA tested for insights into your personal prehistory.

Reservations for the luncheon may be made by calling the library at 331.4370.
