Relay for Life kick-off next week

The American Cancer Society invites people who want to honor cancer survivors or pay tribute to those who have lost their battle with cancer to join its Relay For Life in Palmyra.

Attend the kickoff 'rally' to learn more about the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

Relay For Life is an overnight celebration, held each year at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, allowing individuals and teams to camp out, barbecue, enjoy live entertainment and walk or run around a track 'relay-style' to support cancer research, education and patient and family services in the community. At nightfall, participants will light hundreds of luminary candles placed around the track in a touching ceremony to honor cancer survivors and those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Meet Thursday, Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Palmyra Community Center.
