Sodus playwright prepares show for Gates Hall The Gatesinger Co., Ltd., is preparing a production of When I'm Kissing You, written by playwright Jay Hanagan. The production will play January 31 and February 1 at 8 p.m. at Gates Hall in Pultneyville. When I'm Kissing You is an adult drama/comedy that chronicles the life of John and Mary from age 12 to 72. Twelve Gatesinger portray the characters at various stages in the lives of these two, including Mary's prom experience, John's near wedding, mid-life questions, parenting and grandparenting. The play is lively, funny, touching and very entertaining. The cast members are Vinny Spano, Kristen Weis, Ian Johnson, Heidi Knapp, Mike Sensenbach, Jaime Prindle, Michael Gorski, Sara Blankenberg, Rob Wills, Debbie Weis and Joan and Alan Pritchard. Hanagan, a 1974 graduate of Sodus Central School, has written four full-length plays and more then 10 one-act plays or monologues that have won awards and/or been in competitions nationwide. When I'm Kissing You was the winner of the 2001 Babylon Players World Premiere Playwriting Contest and was performed by the Oberon Theatre Ensemble in New York City in November 2002. Hanagan's plays have been presented by GeVa theatre, Armory Square Playhouse, Geneva Theatre Guild, Seneca Community Players and Gatesinger Co., Ltd.
