 I had three calls on the photo in last week's issue. All agreed that the home is Asa DeRight on Route 21 north. The barn was gone 50 years ago and the dry house was on land that is now Daniel Drive.

Dick Murphy returned to his Union Street home following a hospital stay.

Mildred Leenhouts has returned home after a month's visit at the Tappan home of her daughter, Joan and family. She spent her holidays there.

Harold and Eleanor Schoonerman entertained at a family gathering on January 12, in celebration of Harold's birthday.

The Second Reformed Church is holding a Ham Dinner on Monday, January 20, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The menu includes ham, baked potato, salad bar, dessert bar and beverage. A freewill donation is being accepted.

Jeannette Stubenrod is recuperating at her home after being in the hospital.

Don't forget the chicken and biscuit dinner, at the Marion United Church, on Monday, January 27.

January 20, schools closed - Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday.

January 4, 1934: Stanley Kellogg has bought an interest in E. Warner and Son Company and the firm will now be known as the Marion Coal Company.
