Humane Society plans open house & reception

A volunteer coordination kick-off reception and open house will be held February 9, noon to 4 at Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons.

If you like animals and want to make a resolution to volunteer your time where it is most needed, here's your chance! Help is needed with animal care, socializing cats, helping to exercise, walk, train and groom dogs, cleaning and foster care for puppies, kittens, cats and dogs.

If you cannot work with animals or spend time at the shelter, people are needed for fundraising, humane education and public relations.

Please volunteer to work on a special event like the walk-a-thon or open house. The Humane Society can only exist and continue to operate through the help and support of volunteers. Volunteers are the most essential part of any non-profit organization.
