Rock'n'Roll in Lyons

The staff and students of the Lyons Elementary School are planning a Rock'n'Roll Family Dance on Friday, Jan. 31.

The dance will benefit the Snyder family, whose house was destroyed by a fire the weekend before Christmas. All proceeds from the dance will be given to the Snyders to help them with their many expenses.

The music is being provided by the Lyons band For Goodness Sake. The band members are Bill and Alex Watkins, Patty Gawlik, Mark Clark, Sally Smith, and the Rev. Cynthia Huling Hummel. Tom Mancine, music teacher at the Elementary School, will sing and play his keyboard and guitar. Mancine will join in on a few numbers with the band, also. Everyone in the community is invited to come to this great family event. The admission is just $5 a family.

There will be food, a dance contest and lots and lots of prizes! The fun and festivities will be from 5-7 p.m. in the school gym.

To make a donation to the Snyder family, call the school office at 946.2200, and push #2 for the elementary school.
