Volunteers needed at hospital Newark-Wayne Hospital has volunteer opportunities for all individuals: anyone who'd like to become active in the community, those wishing to make new friends, people wanting to develop new skills, retirees, and anyone with time on their hands who would like to be of service. The Newark-Wayne Hospital is seeking volunteers for the hospital's Snack Bar, Gift Shop, in clerical offices, in the DeMay Long Term Care Living Center, and in other departments of the hospital. Volunteers are especially needed at the Main Information Desk and the Emergency Room Information Desk during select shifts. A health screening and all necessary training are provided. More than 200 volunteers and Auxilians currently work to support the programs and services of Newark-Wayne Hospital. They have been active at the hospital since its opening in 1957.
