Lyons Heritage Society makes peppermint plans

The Lyons Heritage Society will be at the Lyons Farmer's market on Saturday July 12 during Peppermint Days. The group will be selling Lyons coverlets which depict local buildings with historic interest; commemorative tea towels showing five different Hotchkiss Essential Oil labels; and gourmet peppermint candy. Members will also have baked goods for sale.

Proceeds from the sale will be used for ongoing preservation and storage of items relating to the history of the Town and Village of Lyons.

The Heritage Society will also hold an Open House during Peppermint Days in Lyons. Tours will be given of the Hotchkiss Peppermint Office on Saturday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m. New exhibits of Lyons memorabilia have been placed in the display cases. Members will be on hand and will be serving Peppermint Punch and cookies to visitors.
