Visiting Baptists have Newark plans
The week of July 13-18, NBFC will host more than 50 volunteers from the Screven Baptist Association who will enjoy New York hospitality while reaching out to share the love of Jesus with the people of Newark. Events will include Backyard Bible Clubs in the Northview Terrace and Windsong communities, a block party in Central Park, survey work, a youth rally and PrayerWalking. Pastor John DePugh says there is great excitement among the church members who are preparing for the partnering with the southerners. Everyone is involved in some way with making sure that the week's events are successful and that the missions team has a wonderful stay in central New York. Team members will be leading the morning worship service on Sunday, July 13. A block party with free cotton candy and popcorn in Newark's Central Park will run from 4 to 5:30. Then volunteers will be helping with the church's ministry at the Wayne County Nursing Home that evening. Monday through Friday, July 14-18, Backyard Bible Clubs will be held from 2-4 p.m. at Northview Terrace and Windsong Terrace. Each day's events will include games, Bible stories, songs and refreshments. Anyone who would like more information about these upcoming events is asked to contact the church at 331.9633. Copyright
