Newark 1953 class looks for classmates

The Newark High School Class of 1953 will hold its 50-year reunion August 21 through August 24. The committee is planning a fun weekend with casual dress for all events.

There will be: An informal get-together at Rose Bowl Lanes at 7 p.m. on August 21; Friday there will be an 18-hole golf tournament (four person scramble/with carts) at Taranwould with class pictures taken at 5 p.m. (class members are urged to come for the picture); then at 5:30 p.m. a chicken BBQ for golfers and non-golfers alike, will be held at Taranwould;

Saturday morning, there will be a tour of the Norman R. Kelley School (West Miller St.) at 9:30 a.m.

Saturday evening the class will enjoy a dinner cruise on the Keuka Maid in Hammondsport from 6:30 to 9 p.m. transportation by personal vehicle or chartered bus (from the Ames parking lot);

Sunday (August 24) - A mid-morning farewell brunch at the Garlock House in Palmyra.

The committee is trying to locate all classmates. They need addresses for the following: Norman DeWeaver, James Dore, Jerry Kiessling, Thomas Kiessling, William Lawton, Beatrice Leipham Wynn, Viola Moon Smith, Paul Pulver, Gerald Rifenberg, and Barbara Stevens Murray.
