Happenings The Retired Country School Teachers came for lunch on July 21. We enjoyed being together and lingered over a repast of Tangy Pasta Nests and Vegetables, Crab Meat Salad, Creamy Ambrosia and ending with Lime Chiffon Pie and assorted teas. We are looking forward to our next gathering. Joan and Stuart Bornstein and family came to spend time with her mother, Mil Leenhouts. There was a family gathering for a roast which included Mil's sister, Alberta and Gordon De Reu of Newark. 'Sharing your time is showing your friendship.' AUGUST 5, 1943: Those winning prizes in the Doll Parade last week were: Beverly Corteville, Charlotte Lester, Vivian Cambier, Eva Crane and Alma Lepeltak. The ReaLemon folks have come up with another idea to sell their product: Use their juice to kill weeds. Mix a dash of ReaLemon, 1/2 oz. white vinegar, 1 oz. cheap gin and 8 oz. water and pour it on the weeds. Better yet, eliminate the vinegar, use good gin and drink the stuff. That way you won't care if the garden has weeds or not. Birth announced: Brian and Carolyn (Trout) Carl of Fairport, announce the birth of their second child, Justin Timothy Carl, on July 16 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Justin weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. Happy grandparents are Tom and Pat Trout of Marion, and Ken and Denise Carl of Greece. Justin is being welcomed home by his three-year-old brother, Jared. Copyright
