If you had the chance to see the Larry Moss's balloon display, please let me know what it was like. It sounded like the festival was going to be a lot of fun. And if you have any pictures you've taken at events, please send them along to me as well. Pictures are always fun to look at.

On July 21 the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club had their 6th Annual Golf Tournament. The tournament is in memory of Randy Aceto who tragically passed away on August 30, l997 in a boating accident. Randy of Ashley Insurance in Williamson was a fellow businessman and friend to many. A Memorial Scholorship has been established at the Williamson Central School.

Sodus Chamber News: Sue Datthyn presented Scholarship checks of $400 each to Jill Malcoff and Noel Gray. Jill is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Mark Malcoff of 19 Newark St. She carried a 92.51 average and is planning on attending SUNY Brockport for criminal justice and business. Also, tote bags are in and are very nice. They measure 19 inches square and have 6-inch straps. They are made out of white cotton duck with a blue star logo and 'Sodus Chamber of Commerce.' They are $10 each. Any one wishing to purchase one ahead of the Faire, call Mary Jane at 483.4067.

The August Chamber meeting has been cancelled because of the Faire. Next regular meeting will be September 4 at Nick's Family Restaurant starting at 6 p.m. Reservations must be called in to Mary Jane at 483.4067 by Sept 3.

Have a great week. Have fun helping the kids reach their goals in the reading programs . When it's nice out gather a handful of books and spend some time reading. It's amazing how many you can go through in a short time and it's enjoyable to read outside. A great one to look for is Jackalope by Janet Stevenson and her sister Susan Stevenson Crummel. They have an amazing sense of humor.
