Second big win for Newark Reds

Saturday's game was rained out, so yesterday (June 1), the Lady Reds softball team went up against Waterloo, and brought home a 9-0 win. The game was a state Class B Softball Tournament Qualifier, and was played at Phelps.

Sophomore Brandice Balschmiter (pictured) posted 10 strike-outs and hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning. Tab Pullen was 2 for 4 and hit a triple, and Amanda Baker went 2 for 4 at the plate.

Newark will play Williamsville South from Section 6 tomorrow (June 3).
