Sodus school's year-end concert

The Sodus Central High School Music Department announces that its final concert for the year will be Tuesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the high school.

The highlight will be The Battle Hymn of the Republic (arranged by Roy Ringwald), sung by the Concert Choir and other members of the audience who wish to participate.

Rehearsal will take place at 6:15 p.m. in the Vocal Room of the Music Wing. Vocal teacher Lisa Torres will direct the choir and piano accompaniment, for four hands, will be played by Jennifer Champlin, Instrumental Teacher, and Ashley Thompson, a student.

Some of the other groups performing that night will be the Select Choir, the Symphonic Band, the Hand Bell and the Jazz Band. The public is invited to attend.

The Battle Hymn concert was started by Mrs. Alice Ingison, Music Teacher at Sodus from 1931-1970.
