Events planned at Sodus Point Park
summer activities

If you're seeking a summer-time activity that all ages can enjoy, look no further than beautiful Sodus Point Park. Beginning June 21, both the Lakeside and Bayside Beaches at Sodus Point Park will be open daily for swimming between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Red Cross certified lifeguards will be on the job during those hours to ensure a safe and fun day-at-the-beach experience.

Sodus Point closes the beaches to swimming on Labor Day, September 1. At Sodus Point Park on July 9 a special treat for young people ages 5 through 12 is being planned. Between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. Fun-in-the-Sun activities will take place ranging from crafts to nature and, of course, swimming!

Registration required; no walk-ins allowed. An adult must accompany all youths.

To pre-register call 946.5624 Monday-Friday from 8 to 5, or call 483.4459 weekends only until June 21; then daily between the hours of 11 and 7. The deadline for registration is July 1.

Swimming and Fun-in-the-Sun at Sodus Point Park are sponsored and funded by the Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
