Happenings Congratulations to Stephanie Richards, who recently earned a B.S. degree from Roberts Wesleyan College, with highest honors. It's always darkest before dawn. The cake mix that most consumers want to buy isn't tutti-frutti or rum-a-rama. It's yellow, followed by white, then devil's food. And ironically these were the first mixes to come our way, some 50 years ago. Dave Crane has returned to his North Main Street home after a hospital stay. Eleanor Schoonerman is recuperating at home following surgery. Isabelle Bushart had carpel tunnel surgery recently. Caroline Bushart underwent successful surgery and is doing well. Julie Reesor presented the Special Music at the morning worship service at the Second Reformed Church on June 22. JULY 1, 1943: Robert A. Moore is dean of the vacation church school with Mrs. Orson Crane, registrar and Mrs., Arthur Dean, treasurer. Teachers are Mrs. Peter J. VanHall, Mrs. W. J. Meengs, Mrs. Ivan Schoonerman and Mrs. Robert Moore. Sessions from July 1 through 9 will be in the Baptist and Presbyterian Churches. Mrs. Colway's Third Grade Class assembled for a picture after spending time touring their Marion Museum. The children said they will return with other family members.
