'Read Across America' in Newark

Lincoln Primary School in Newark observed Read Across America and featured Dr. Seuss at the Farewell Friday assembly. Newark teacher Jeff Hamelinck put on his Cat in the Hat headgear and read to children and parents last Friday.

Dr. Seuss, Theodor Seuss Geisel, was was born March 2, 1904 in Springfield, MA. Each year, for his birthday, children are encouraged to read and enjoy the wonders offered by books.

Geisel died September, 24 1991.
