March 16, the thermometer in the front of our house registered 82 degrees!

Watch for the opening of Hunney Bear's.

Blanket Sunday Drive at the United Church - 62 blankets have been purchased to date. Mission Committee thanks the contributors.

There's a Chicken and Biscuit Dinner on Monday, March 24 at the United Church.

The Women's Guild Evening Circle, at the United Church, met at the home of Sue White for their March meeting.

Joyce Booher of Batavia visited with her family, the Paul Benders over the weekend.

Grandparents and other family members gathered for dinner at the home of Brian and Jill Adriaansen of Smith Road, on the occasion of the baptism of their son, Derek Carl at the Second Reformed Church. Gord and I attended as well as Jill's parents, Roger and Grace Schneckenburger of Glenwood, NY. Proud brother, Craig entertained the guests with his latest acquisitions.

Fred Coisman is home following a hospital stay.

Pearl Dey is now recuperating at her own home on Palmyra Road.

On April 15 - Town of Marion Birthday ... your Marion Museum will be open from 2 to 4. Featured will be a scrapbook showing the events on Marion's 100th Birthday Anniversary in 1926.

Congratulations to Kyle McClinton for placing third in the state and fourth in the Federation at the State Indoor Track meet.

In 1895 Mr. Goossen bought and enlarged the present brick block where he was for years at the head of the largest department store in this section. (Where Businessmen were 50 years ago - 1930).

MARCH 23, 1914: The Atlantic Hotel has not been rented to this date. The Town does not want its only hotel closed during what promised to be an unusually busy year.

The MCS German Club has been raising money to travel to Germany. Flower sale was very successful due to the assistance of Linda Schutt of Marion Florist. We plan to continue this sale next year. The students were able to raise $6500 thanks to the generosity of the community. They plan to leave for Germany on April 11 and will travel for 16 days visiting Frankfurt, Freiburg, Fuessen, Berlin, Munich and Austria. They plan to tour museums, castles, the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, Check Point Charley Museum, picnic in the Black Forest, cruise the Rhein River and swim in the Olympic Pool complex in Munich. Evening activities include theatre, discos, sporting events and a Folklore evening at the Hofbrauhaus.

Congratulations go out to several basketball players who received post-season honors. Named to the first team Wayne County All-Star team was Kyle Elvin and Jared Schutt. Second team honors went to Ryan Weser. Matt Elvin was named to the third team. Jason Lowery will play in the Wayne-Finger Lakes Exceptional Senior game on Weds., March 19 at the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls. Congratulations to all the players named and to the team for a great season.
