Boater safety classes

The sheriff's office will be conducting boater safety classes on April 5 and 26, May 17 and 24 from 8 to 4 at 7368 Route 31, Lyons.

Youths between the ages of 10 to 18 years old are required to have a boater safety certificate in order to operate a boat. Anyone age 27 and younger must have this certification to operate a personal watercraft (Jetski). This certification will only be issued upon successful completion of the boater safety course recognized by the state of New York.
