Food for Fines at Lyons Library

During National Library Week, April 6-12, the Lyons Public Library will sponsor a Food for Fines Forgiveness Week at the library. For every overdue item brought in with a non-perishable food item, the fine will be forgiven, no matter how overdue the item is.

For patrons who only have fines on their records, for every dollar they owe they can bring in a non- perishable food item and have the fine forgiven.

All donated food will be given to the local food pantry in Lyons, which is located at the Lyons Presbyterian Church.

Non-perishable food items include any canned goods such as soup, vegetables, tuna, fruit and boxed items such as macaroni and cheese, pasta, rice, etc.

For more information on this event please call the library at 946. 9262.
