Stage performance at St. Michael's

Students from St. Michael School have been rehearsing for a show this weekend.

Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m. and on March 30 at 2 p.m. students will be performing Wagon Wheels West.

This play is a comedy, a western, and a musical. The setting for the play is the small town of Vinegar Bottle. There are heroes, heroines, villains, and a mystery to be solved.

The actors are in grades 4 through 8 at St. Michael School, Newark. There will also be a cameo appearance by some students in grades K-3. The producer of the play is Pam Rogers and the directors are Lauren Maddock and Joan Grambo.

According to Director Maddock, 'We have a tremendous amount of talent in our school. We decided to do a musical this year because there are so many students with beautiful singing voices and we wanted to give them a chance to show off. The kids have really been working hard and they are ready to give a good performance.'

The musical will take place in the Newark High School Auditorium; tickets ($5 and $4) are available at the door.

Cast members include Michael Bogan as Smiling Slade Claggett and Rose List as Candy Dane; Matt Clemons as Straight-Shooting Sam and Matt Nowak as The Arizona Kid.
