Missing Sodus
By Melissa White

Finally, the weather has been acting appropriately! Nice to sit outside or run errands without freezing.

flowers You should see Ralph Everdyke and Betty any day now. They will be heading back to Newark early in May. Do you believe it's May already? Eileen should be in the area as well. I'm hoping to see her while she's up North.

Don't forget the Crop Walk in Sodus tomorrow. Registration is at 1 p.m. at the Church of Epiphany. The walk starts at 1:30 p.m.

At the Kraft Shack: Mon., May 5, 6:30 to 9 p.m., a prefect decoration for Memorial Day, Fourth of July or just to be patriotic. $21 includes all. Kids Mother's Day Class: Wed., May 7, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. - The kids will be thrilled to make a gift for their mom for Mother's Day. $12 includes all.

A Tip from the Kraft Shack: To clean your paint brushes ... Clean the brush off fast by simmering it in vinegar for 10 minutes to soften dried paint. Then scrub bristles with a steel-wool pad and rinse with water.

Lorrie Zone is doing well after her surgery. Good to here there were no problems and she's healing nicely.

May Birthdays: Susie Hooper May 8, Michael White May 20, and Doug and Alice Clark will have their anniversary on May 25.

An Easy cool recipe the kids will enjoy: Take some graham crackers (you can use the chocolate ones, plain or the cinnamon) and split into two squares,. On one add whip cream then place the other cracker on the top to make a sandwich. When you have a few, stack them up in a pan or on a plate and pop in the freezer for a while till the whipped cream is firm. A healthy cool treat.

Soon the Libraries should begin their Summer Reading Programs. I will contact Carol and Robin to see if they can't give me some idea on the theme they will be using.

If you have special events , birthdays etc. please send them along to me and I will add them to the column for you.

Soon I will be changing my e-mail, so I'll be sure to send that along to you.

Let's not forget about the men and women who are still stationed over in Iraq and Afghanistan. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers (as well as those who keep our country safe at our borders).

Have a great week.
