Storyteller at Lyons Library

On Saturday, May 17 at 1 p.m. the Lyons Public Library will be hosting a performance by Joseph Windwalker, a Native American storyteller.

Windwalker will tell myths, legends and stories from the Northeastern Woodland People. He and his wife, Sandra Walks in the Rain, have been educators for universities, museums, environmental centers, historical sites and schools in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Delaware for over two decades. Joseph is of the Lenni Lenape, Turtle Clan and Sandra is of the Powhattan, Wolf Clan.

Practicing environmentalists and organic farmers, the two are also active as storytellers, musicians, historians, artisans and craftsmen, working to keep the traditions and beliefs of their people alive.

The Windwalkers live at Medicine Owl Studios and Farm, a working organic farm in the beautiful mountains of North Central PA.
