Lyons Heritage Society seeks donations

The Lyons Heritage Society will meet May 19 at 7 p.m. in the Hotchkiss Building, Water Street. There will be a brief business meeting.

The program, presented by Theresa Streb, Lyons Librarian, will be a slide show depicting places and people of Alloway.

Lyons Heritage Society welcomes new members. Call 946.4492 for information. The public is always invited to attend the meetings.

Lyons Heritage is accepting donations of items relating to the history of the village or town. Storage cases and another display case have been purchased with funds from a grant from the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.

Assemblyman Robert Oaks helped secure this grant. Donations are gradually being accessioned, catalogued, and stored in appropriate archival materials. The Society is continually adding to the collections that can be viewed at Open Houses or by calling 946.4492 for an appointment.
