Three flags wave on bridge in Clyde Old Glory, POW and the New York State Flags are waving on the Clyde Bridge over the Erie Canal. This project is one of several being planned to update, build pride and beautify the Clyde community. The Clyde Chamber of Commerce is spearheading several projects with the devoted help of time and effort of Town Supervisor Leo Jenkins, Mayor Tom Caprilla, County, State representatives, and Clyde community volunteers. The Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone who helped make the project successful. Flag procurement was obtained through the efforts of MIA-POW Chairman, 7th District American Legion Michael Montemorano. Thanks to Supervisor Leo Jenkins for his interest and help, support of Eagles for the project, Jim Brady, Wayne County Highway Superintendent and staff for design, fabrication and installation of the Flag units, Merton Edwards and staff, and Mayor Caprilla for permits. Chamber President, Rudolph A. DeLisio will continue with plans and goals for pride in Clyde. The American Legion Post 226 and VFW Post 947 will be asked to consider flag maintenance due to wear, and appearance for respect for the units displayed.
