New Chief Deputy at Sheriff's Dept.

Sheriff Richard Pisciotti has appointed a new Chief Deputy for the Wayne County's Sheriff's Department.

Rick House, a 22-year veteran with the Department, has been promoted to Chief Deputy in charge of the Police Services Division. House started as a road patrol deputy, became a Road Patrol Sergeant in 1988, was promoted to Detective in 1992, and has been Detective Lieutenant since 1999. He takes the Chief Deputy post as successor to a retiring Willam Shortsleeve. As Chief Deputy, House is in charge of the road patrol, boat patrol, criminal records, the civil office of the department, supervising deputies and reserve officers, overseeing about 75 men and women.

House is a 1976 Lyons High graduate. He graduated from Finger Lakes Community College with an Associate's degree in criminal justice, and received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from SUNY Brockport. He earned his Master's degree from Brockport in Public Administration.
