Rachel Bailey presented the offertory music at the Second Reformed Church on May 18.

Happy 90th Birthday to Nellie DeWispelaere.

Mark Allegretti of the Wayne County Child Evangelism Fellowship presented the Moment for Mission at the Second Reformed Church.

Everyone is invited to attend United Church's CHILDREN'S DAY on June 1. Worship service at 11 will be followed by a Potluck Picnic at Pavilion #1 at Forman Park, Pultneyville. Please bring your own table service and a dish to pass. Hot dogs and beverages will be provided. Certificates and attendance pins will be awarded and Bibles will be presented to the first graders.

Today is the Elementary School Memorial Day Ceremony at 1:20 at Marion Cemetery.

Monday, May 26 - Memorial Day Parade and Services at 11 a.m. downtown.

On May 9 and 10, 29 students in grades 7-12, and one 6th grader, traveled to Penfield Middle School to participate in the Vocal NYSSMA festival. Students performed solos and sight-reading in front of a judge. Everyone did a great job representing Marion with their hard work, musical abilities and high scores.

Gertrude Webb is residing at Parkwood Heights in Macedon.

Congratulations to Tom and Kim Tennity on the birth of William Thomas, weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz. on May 15. William was welcomed home by brother, Luke and sister, Kayla.

Chaplain Doug Schwaderer was welcomed at the United Church on May 18. He represented the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, working in Wayne County.

The Afternoon Guild at the United Church met at the home of Svea Dahlberg on May 20.

MAY 24, 1912: Beautiful and costly memorial windows have been placed in the Presbyterian Church, which is nearing completion. The large front window is the gift of Calvin Rice of Chicago, in memory of his parents. It bears the inscriptions: 'Lyman Rice, 1811-1860 and Mary A. Rice, 1820-1904.'

Virginia VanderBrook has returned to her North Street apartment.

Scarlet Thread's annual online auction ends May 31. Log onto www.scarletthread.org. There will be many bids up for auction. All proceeds will go to the 'building repair and equipment fund' for their student center.

Congratulations to Karissa DePoint and Katie Wilder, the Color Guard Captains.

Class of 2003 announced the Class Marshals for graduation: Mary Boerman and PETer Goodridge.

Grand Opening of the Ice Cream and Cafe at Maryellen's, May 25, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Come enjoy the atmosphere in the outside cafe or relax inside in the ice cream parlor. Food will be served including garbage plates, fried dough, mozzarella sticks, burgers; 16 flavors of Hershey's Ice Cream and Delightful Desserts.
