Kiwanis makes activity bags for Newark hospital

Newark Kiwanis Club members assembled 20 activity bags, containing crayons, markers, coloring books, activity books and toys.

Hospital Volunteer Coordinator Carole Nary is pictured with Kiwanis President Peg Hanson. Nary took the bags to three different places in the hospital. She gave bags to both radiology and laboratory for the older children who undergo tests, or have to sit and wait for a family member.

Other bags went to a closet for Same Day Surgery. Items in this closet are given to surgical patients, particularly while they are enduring that long wait before surgery, and also to the children who remain overnight on the Medical/Surgical Floors.

The Kiwanis Club of Newark meets Thursday evenings at 6:30 at the Quality Inn.
